Recent advances on the ethnomedicinal plants as immunomodulatory agents

چکیده

Modulation of immune response to alleviate diseases has long since been of interest. Recent progress on the ethnomedicinal plants as immunomodulatory agent reported from 2000 to early 2008 is reviewed. Plant extracts have been widely investigated in this time in different parts of the world for their possible immunomodulatory properties. Some of the studies demonstrated to the isolation of potential bioactive molecule. Few have been tested as herbal formulations. Several plant extracts, compounds and formulations has been patented.
